I’m finally back to Paris after a whirlwind past two weeks. First Pau and then Dubai. It was fantastic to step out of the airport yesterday evening wearing a sleeveless shirt! Paris certainly welcomed me back from sunny Dubai with the soft landing I needed. To finish off my amazing vacation before getting back to work, we took Sunday very easy and refused to take a metro the whole day given the gorgeous temps. We walked and walked and walked.
First, brunch in Béchu on the ultra-chic Avenue Victor Hugo. Just look at that gorgeous blue sky! This is a lovely outdoor brunch you must do! €25 for a HUGE 3-course brunch. For only €25 per person you get a hot drink (the hot cocoa is excellent here! fresh cream + a tablet of chocolate! *Drool*), a freshly squeezed orange ou pamplemousse juice, a very generous plate of viennoiseries, choucettes and a tartine with a small pot of jam. Next comes the omlette with your choice of salmon or ham. And again, more bread and toast! PLUS a small salad and a slice of cheese! You dont see the 3rd course here because we never made it to it. Our tummies were stuffed beyond stufftation that we had to take away that adorable selection of little éclairs, choux à la crèmes and macarons. I kid you not when I say I could not eat another thing the whole day! So much for an economical and 3-in-1 efficiency brunch! Deee-lish!
After brunch we walked all the way to Champs-Élysées and then down the gorgeous tree-lined Avenue d’Iéna and finally plonked on a bench in the beautiful Trocadero park. Time seemed to fly doing absolutely nothing but talking. It was the perfect Sunday.
This morning I woke up to an ominous grey sky and menacing clouds. Although warm, the air was humid and pregnant with expectant rain. And surely Mother Nature did not let us down. The tempest came upon Paris with torrential downpours punctuated by thunderstorms and lightning throughout the whole day.
This is the view from my window right now. The sun’s just not ready to come out anytime soon.
