Just a few months ago I was a Dubai-based working girl on the brink of starting a new life as an expat in Paris. It feels strange to write it this way because it sounds so normal, because it is normal to me now, but honestly…how cool is that!! And some days (especially on sunny ones like today) I experience these “I live in Paris!” moments and smile to myself like a dork because I feel ridiculously lucky to have been given this amazing opportunity to live and breathe in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
One ordinary day in Dubai as I was daydreaming for the millionth time about walking Paris’ cobbled streets, eating macarons and wearing red lipstick everyday I decided to start a blog; and after much contemplation over a suitable name, thefakeparisienne was born. What started as a teeny tiny blog and an innocent desire to document my experiences in Paris has become a real passion for me, and today, thanks to a few new followers this baby blog has been tipped over the 50-mark. This may seem like a small number to many, but not to me, because I am truly humbled to know that 50 wonderful people scattered around the earth are interested in what I have to say. After all you cant build an empire without a building block.
I hope that my experiences, writing and photos are inspiring you and that you can see the magic in all my travel adventures and in this beautiful city that is Paris. At the risk of sounding sappy (because i really do feel humbled!) thank-you for your dedication and for turning my seed of a blog into a fledging plant I am enjoying feeding and nurturing every day.
UN GRAND MERCI A TOUS x
