This weekend I’m proud to announce that I took my first trip outside Paris since I arrived in October! I headed to Switzerland and more specifically Lausanne on the trusted TGV to pay N a visit. And fate may have it that this was the snowiest weekend they have seen in a long long time! Despite the delay getting in, the scenery pulling in to the station was just stunning and the rest of the weekend was no exception …more on that in a separate post ( ;
It was a superbly eventful weekend to say the very least…packed with so many events and a lot of partying but in the midst of all that chaos we found time to just be. Outside. As one. With the stunning splendor of nature and the majesty of the Jura mountains in the background. There is nothing more refreshing than bundling up and being outside on a crisp winter day. And the views from Lausanne harbour are just breathtaking.
I also got to indulge in one of my favorite dishes. Filet de perche. A specialty of the Lac Leman region; this fish only lives in lake water. It is served very simply with tartar sauce, french fries and in my case of-course, a very generous heaping of lemon and salt. It is small but quite meaty, tender and very delectable. And doused in citron et sel…it was quite simply delicious.
