A birthday to remember!

I was lucky to celebrate my birthday twice this year!  Because a few friends were out of town for Eid break, I celebrated with my family on the actual day (25th) and then again in a 12-person girls-night-out on the 31st!

Each celebration was different but both were very special and filled with delicious desserts (3 cakes!), decorations (balloons, balloons, balloons!) and a lot of amazing gifts!  Here are a few photos…

I have some amazing friends that I will miss terribly.  Thanks to my BFF Ran for the beautiful flowers, balloons and chocolate cake and to all the other 12 girls for showing me an incredible night out and for all the amazing gifts!  The highlights were this adorable bag from my sister…you can see the Parisian illustration on the bag! Another favorite gift was from one of my oldest and dearest friends, H who got me this gorgeous Prada wallet…it is everything i LOVE: pink, with a bow, girly and very very Parisian!

I was also gifted a Kindle by my favorite Dubai girls that I have fallen in love with!  Although I am a traditional book lover, forever ear-marking pages and breaking-in book spines, the Kindle is lightweight and practical and will definitely become my new best friend on my many metro rides in Paris and for all the trips I plan to take.  I have already started to look for covers and have settled on a pink pebbled-leather Kate Spade that is currently out of stock online!  I can’t wait to get it!!  Have you guessed my favorite color yet?! My man, as always full of surprises, made an amazing video for me that made me laugh and cry at the same time.  True to him, he ended the video with a cliffhanger saying I will get my surprise in Paris.  I have been pestering him for hints everyday since the 25th!  He won’t budge!!  The suspense is killing me!! lol  During dinner at the restaurant on the 31st, the waitress came up to me and delivered a letter…from him!  I felt like I was in a Hollywood movie.  Despite the long-distance, he never fails to blow me away with his thoughtfulness and his incredibly sweet gestures.

I love him and all the amazing family and friends in my life.  Thank-you to all the special people in my life for making this birthday one of the most memorable I’ve had. xxx
